After leaving Bluth in 1992, I was hired by Rich Animation to work on a series of Bible and historical animated videos. I eventually climbed my way up the ladder and became head of Special FX on their first animated feature, The Swan Princess. While at Bluth, I was always confined to working within the pre-established house style, so this project was cool for me as it was the first feature film where I was able to actually design the look of my animation. Looking back, I have to say that most of my work on the film was a bit over-simplistic and somewhat lacking due to my inexperience combined with a small budget and the harsh schedule - yet a few scenes came through rather nice.
