Every
time I create a book, there's a lot
of artwork that doesn't make it in
the final product. As they say in the
movie industry, a lot of footage ends
up on the cutting floor.
For
some reason, The
Towers of Numar was a particularly
difficult book to nail down. For a
period of over two years, it went through
several incarnations, styles and shapes.
So much so, that my wife was actually
having doubt that the book would ever
see the light of the day.
Here
is a rejected cover (with a humanoid
Meeka) that was done over a year before
the actual release. The image on the
right is the final cover.
