Here's
another Insanely Twisted email I got from one of the captainwacky.com
gang:
Hello,
My name is Gareth Axford, and I'm a friend and colleague of Kevin
Frostick. I'm also another of the individuals responsible for captainwacky.com.
Whilst checking our counter stats today, I noticed that we've had
a bunch of hits from your site, and I'd like to thank you for featuring
us along with Kev's messed up creations.
As
a sort of twisted thank you, I thought I'd send you my two leporine
creations

The
Insanely Twisted Rabbits keep on coming! Well, just the
other day I received the following email:
Dear
Mr Gagné,
My
name is Kevin Frostick and I am a freelance animator working in
London.
I
have been a huge fan of your work ever since a friend of mine directed
me to your website. Frenzied
Fauna and Insanely
Twisted Rabbits instantly became favourites in my book collection,
and The Iron Giant has long been my favourite animated
film of all time.
I
am coming to the end of my current project and found myself with
a bit of spare time in the studio. So I decided to do what I've
been promising myself for a few months, and put together a few twisted
rabbits of my own and send them to you.
Strangely
addictive aren't they? I found it impossible to stop at one or two.
So please find attached four twisted rabbits for you. I hope you
like them - or at the very least I hope they cause a slight sneer.
Yours
sincerely,
Kevin
Frostick

Cosmic
Art
I’ve
always been a huge fan of Jack Kirby’s cosmic art. As
a kid, I used to marvel at his strange universes. His Fantastic
Four comics, featuring concepts
and characters such as the Negative Zone, the Kree, Galactus
and the Silver Surfer, were big favorites.
These
"cosmic" themes must have left a very strong impression
on me because they keep popping back into my work.
Here
are a few "Kirbyesque" spacescapes from various
projects I've done in recent years. The image on the left
is from Zed #1,
the one on the upper right is from The
Towers of Numar and the one on the right is from
the Batman Project
I did last year.

A
Sketch for a Friend
A
few years ago, while working at Warner Brothers Feature Animation,
I ran into Lance Falk. Lance and I worked on a Youngblood
promo a few years earlier and it was nice to see him again.
Lance
showed me a sketchbook he had been putting together. It contained
drawings by some of the most renowned artists in the comic and animation
industry. While I was flipping through it, he asked me if I'd be
willing to contribute a sketch. I agreed and drew this little picture
of Rex.
A
few days ago, I received an email from Lance with an attachment
containing the sketch I drew for him three years ago!
Well,
I thought the drawing was rather cute so I decided to post it here.
