Freaky
Flora Reviewed @ MonsterLibrarian.com
MonsterLibrarian.com has
added yet another one of my books to their list
of reviews. The review is quite good, although
the reviewer points out two goofs I've been painfully
aware of. I'll be sure to correct further editions,
which will
make
the
first printing
a true collector's item ;)
"Michel
Gagne offers another alphabet picture book, this
time focusing
on plants. Gagne
once again offers up amazing and imaginative
illustrations, and in this case some are more
benign looking while others such as the Cacti
look particularly
menacing." (read

ZED
gets animated!

Click
here for permanent page.
Last
September, I posted the cover of ZED
#8 on line.
Soon after, I was contacted
by animator, Dean
Dodrill, asking if it would
be OK for him to do a little animation clip inspired
by the cover. Fast-forward a couple of months and
I
get this wonderful little film. Maybe it's time
I get started on the feature film! Check it out!

The
Music of Prelude to Eden

After
learning of Shirley's death, I contacted Prelude
to Eden's sound maestro, Joe Campana,
and asked him if he had any recordings from the
1995 scoring session. Joe searched through his
archives and dug up some real gems. Check
'em out.

I
just posted a 9-page preview of Chapter 4 of The
Saga of Rex which will appear in Flight
4 next summer (the entire chapter is 32
pages).

Click
here for preview.
By
the way, Flight 4 is going to
be amazing! And wait until you see the incredible
cover that Kazu Kibuishi painted for it. I'll post
a link to it as soon as it's available for public
viewing.

Shirley
Walker RIP

Click
here to view more pictures.
I
just learned the incredibly sad news that composer
Shirley Walker passed away from a brain aneurism.
Shirley was one of the nicest people I have ever
known. I met Shirley back in 1995 when I approached
her to
do the scoring for my short film, Prelude
to Eden. What
she delivered to me was beyond any of my expectations.
She
was amazingly generous with her talent, time and
expertise and always a consumate professional
who enjoyed her work a great deal.
Shirley
will be missed by many who were lucky enough to
have known her.

to Eden recording session.
